The Taoiseach is due to meet with the bosses of Ireland's four main energy suppliers today.

Leo Varadkar said he'll ask them to do more to help with the cost of living crisis.

Last week, both Electric Ireland and SSE Airtricity announced cuts to their prices.

But Muireann Lynch from the ESRI says prices are still very high:

"We are finally seeing retail companies begin to reduce their prices."

"Now, they haven't reduced them to anything like the levels we would have seen in 2020, before this all kicked off."

"Having said that, wholesale prices are still well above where they were in 2020. They're not as high as they were last summer, but wholesale prices are still high relative to where they were a couple of years ago, and retail prices are only just starting to come down now."
