Emergency Services in Donegal have confirmed ten deaths after an explosion in the village of Creeslough.

They include four men, three women and three children - two teenagers, a male and a female, and a primary school-aged girl.

The victims' names have not yet been released.

Gardai say they do not expect the death toll from yesterday's explosion in Creeslough to rise above the ten deaths already confirmed.
8 people are in hospital, seven are in stable condition in Letterkenny University Hospital while one man has been transferred to Dublin for specialist burns treatment.
Emergency services believe that all missing people have now been accounted for and none remain at the scene of the explosion in Creeslough.

Taoiseach Micheal Martin has confirmed he will visit the village in the coming days to witness the devastation 1st hand.

"I think the entire nation is shocked at what has happened, it's an unspeakable tragedy. Our though and our prayer, our hearts go out to the people of Creeslough."

"It's very very difficult to comprehend as people go about their daily lives that something like this can happen."

Tánaiste Leo Varadkar says 'the sadness is incomprehensible' following the Donegal tragedy.

He says it's 'almost impossible to absorb the horror' and described the efforts of first responders as 'heroic'.

Green Party leader, Eamon Ryan, extended his condolences and prayers to those affected by the incident.

He says the community of Creeslough has shown 'huge strength, resilience and unity' over the past 24 hours.
