The Electric Picnic main stage will be powered by renewable energy this year.
The festival returns to Stradbally Hall in Laois on August 16th, 17th and 18th.
Organisers have applied for planning permission to build a substation, which will be connected to the grid, as it aims to become more sustainable.
It's the first time renewable power has been used at a festival in Ireland or even the UK.
Melvin Benn from Festival Republic said he wants it to set the bar "for the rest of the festival world".
