The new centre will develop Irish teaching expertise in STEM
Dundalk looks set to become the national centre for STEM - that's the name given to science, technology, engineering and mathematics study.
A memorandum of understanding will be signed this morning at the Louth/Meath Educational Training Board centre in the Town to create a new HQ for the sector.
The new advanced Manufacturing Traing Centre of Excellence will develop Irish teaching expertise in STEM.
Martin O'Brien, of the Louth/Meath Educational Training Board, says top class knowledge learned by teachers at the new centre will ultimately bring huge benefits to students across the country.
Mr O'Brien stated, "They will have exposure to the very latest industry standard equipment. They will be able to train on it, they will be able to experience it and they will be able to bring back that experience back to the learners in their classrooms."
