Irish Rail says lorry drivers not knowing the height of their vehicles and weight of their load is 'indefensible'
It's after three trucks hit two bridges and a level crossing yesterday evening, causing significant delays.
Following the incidents, Irish Rail tweeted it was the result of "reckless driving by three dumb truckers".
Truck hits bridge Pearse St, Dublin at 15:20hrs…
Truck hits bridge Portlaoise at 15:20hrs
Truck hits level crossing Serpentine, Dublin at 16:20hrs…Reckless driving by three #dumbtruckers causing delays up to 30 mins, trains have resumed, working to clear delays ASAP. ??

Communications Manager with Irish Rail Barry Kenny says they will work with Gardaí over the issue:
"Knowing your load and the height of your load as a HGV driver is as basic a part of road safety as for all of us knowing that you wait for the light to turn green to go."
"It is indefensible."
"We will work with the Gardaí obviously where we can get the information that's needed, we pursue prosecution, and obviously things like penalty points and payment for damage."
