Nobody was injured in the incident.
Drivers on the M50 had a lucky escape this morning after a freak hailstorm sent vehicles skidding off the road.
Gardaí say a number of vehicles lost control and went off the road.
The motorway was closed for about an hour, as paramedics and firefighters attended the scene at Junction 15 Cherrywood before 8am.
Three or four vehicles ended up in the central median, but Gardaí said nobody was hurt.
The northbound carriageway has since reopened.
