Almost 70% of people need to ask someone else for DIY help

7 in 10 adults have no experience working on a building site or learning DIY trade skills.

A Homevalue survey also found 87% of people agree trade skills should be encouraged more in school.

29% of adults say they have no experience working on a site, while 62% wish they had greater exposure to building and DIY skills.

The research also found 67% would go to a family member or friend first for help on a DIY project.
