The Department of Health offices on Baggot Street in Dublin have been evacuated after a suspicious package was sent to the Health Minister.
Part of the road has been closed while teams investigate if the envelope poses a risk.
Dublin Fire Brigade says the incident is of a Hazardous Material nature but there is no danger to the public.
The Army Bomb Disposal Team is also at the scene.
The building which also houses the Department of Children and a sub section of the Finance Department, will be closed until 2pm.
Drivers in the area are being told to expect delays and disruption.
