It's reported senior Fianna Fail TD Timmy Dooley took part in a number of votes in the Dáil last Thursday despite not being present.
The Irish Independent revealed Deputy Dooley voted in six out of eight votes but footage from the Dáil shows he was not in his seat at the time.
The votes on amendments to a Green Party motion on forestry and a Sinn Fein motion on the living wage were carried out electronically.
Commenting on the incident, the Deputy said Limerick TD Niall Collins had used the voting button on his behalf as he mistakenly believed Deputy Dooley was still in the chamber while he took a phone call.
