She was speaking at a massive rally in New York with an estimated quarter of a million people.
It follows a global day of protests yesterday in an estimated 185 countries to draw attention to what many believe is a climate emergency.
Thousands of protesters took to the streets of Dublin, and it's reported demonstrations were planned in more than 50 towns in 18 counties across Ireland.
