A young man from Longford has died in New York after appearing to fall from a height.
The 22-year-old was on holidays in the US after spending the summer in Canada.
Just before midnight on Tuesday, police received a call that Ciaran was unconscious and unresponsive in front of 880 Gates Avenue in Brooklyn, New York. The UCD student had trauma to his body consistent with falling from an elevated height and was brought to Woodhull Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
New York police say the investigation doesn't appear to be criminal and remains ongoing.
The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
