Children aged 2 to 17 are being urged to get their free nasal spray flu vaccine before Christmas.
The HSE is advising parents to get it for their children due to an expected rise flu and other winter viruses.
For the first time this year, teens aged 13 to 17 can now get a free flu vaccine.
The HSE's Consultant in Public Health, Dr Ap-arna Keegan has this advice on where to get it.
'There are plenty of GP's and pharmacies across the country offering the nasal flu vaccine for free. If you go to hse.ie/flu you'll be able to find a local pharmacy offering this vaccine for you. Once you go to your appointment , it's literally just a quick spray up each of the nostril of a child. It's really simple.'
