The group representing Catholic police officers in the North says it's advising its members to arm themselves if they go to Mass, in the wake of last month's data leak.

Police representative are in Westminster today, to inform MPs about the impact the major breach has had on officers.

It comes the day after the PSNI Chief Constable Simon Byrne announced his resignation in the wake of the scandal.

Superintendent Gerry Murray is Chair of of the Catholic Police Guild of Northern Ireland:

"Our members are frightened, scared, have no idea what tomorrow will bring for them."

"I have officers where young Catholic officers are asking me, do they carry their personal protection weapon with them when they go to mass."

"That has happened and the advice I've given - yes you do."
