Streaming the FIFA Women's World Cup would be an opportunity to highlight women's sports in Ireland.
Deputy Alan Farrell is calling on Dublin City Council to host 'fan zones' to screen the games this summer.
It's the first time Ireland has qualified for the tournament - which takes place this July and August in Australia and New Zealand.
The Fingal TD says similar fan zones have been set up when the men's national team have played in major tournaments.
According to FIFA nine host cities across Australia and New Zealand will hold similar 'Fan Festivals' for the tournament.
