The maker of Cadbury chocolate is launching a 'diet' version.

Mondalez has used plant-based fibers to cut out up to 75% of sugar and fat.

The Daily Star reports Mondalez CEO, Dirk van de Put, believes the low-fat alternative will eventually become as popular as Diet Coke.

Although Mr van de Put, admits the new recipe it still is 'not quite exactly the same taste' and could take people some time to get used to.

Other plant-based options

This new bar comes one year since Cadbury launched their vegan 'plant-bar' in Irish stores.

The plant-based recipe is made with almond paste, and comes in two different flavours: smooth milk and salted caramel pieces.

Separately, the chocolate brand also recently launched a 91 calorie treat-bar called the '91-calorie Delight range'.
