October's budget could be a generous one.
Exchequer figures for July showed yesterday that tax take is up 10 per cent on the same time last year.
Just under 48 billion euro was collected in taxes in the first 7 months of 2023.
Economist Austin Hughes says we could see more money given away on budget day.
"These numbers suggest the government has the capacity and increasing arguments to do more in the budget than perhaps had planned."
