A 10-year-old boy has died after drowning in Co Louth.
The tragic incident happened at a house in Carlingford earlier today. He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where he was pronounced dead.
A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí were called to an incident in which a 10-year-old boy drowned at house in Carlingford, Co. Louth, today Thursday 11th July 2019.
"A file will be prepared for Coroner Court."
It's the second tragedy to involve a child in Co. Louth in recent days.
On Sunday, seven year old Chantelle Keenan died in an accident while she was playing in the driveway of a house in Drogheda.
