It's official.
Boris Johnson has been elected as the new leader of the British Conservative Party.
Mr Johnson beat out his rival Jeremy Hunt and will become the next British Prime Minister.
The announcement was made in the last few minutes after the counting of votes finished.
Thank you all for the incredible honour you have done me. The time for campaigning is over and the time for work begins to unite our country and party, deliver Brexit and defeat Corbyn. I will work flat out to repay your confidence

The former mayor of London, who has long cherished an ambition to lead his country, won the contest by a convincing margin 92,153 votes to 46,656, with 66% of the vote. Turnout was 87.4% among 159,320 party members.
In typical fashion Johnson joked that even some of his own supporters may “wonder quite what they have done”, during his acceptance speech.
