The US president is making an urgent request for billions of dollars from Congress to help Israel fight Hamas.
Joe Biden has been delivering a rare Oval Office speech where he says Hamas and Russian President Vladimir Putin both want to "annihilate" neighbouring democracies.
He says the US and its allies are "working to build a better future" for the Middle East.
Mr Biden says he's sending an urgent request to congress later - which includes help for Israel.
'It's a smart investments that's going to pay dividends for American security for generations and help us keep troops out of harms way. The scurity package I'm asking congress to do is an unprecedented commitment to Israel security that will sharpen Israel's qualitative edge, which we've committed to.'
