The Irish Heart Foundation has called for an outright ban on disposable vapes.

It's being proposed after the Cabinet introduced a bill on Tuesday to ban the sale of vapes to under 18s.

Minister of State, Ossian Smyth, has announced plans to launch a public consultation on disposable e-cigarettes.

The IHF's Advocacy Manager, Mark Murphy, says there's no place for them in Ireland:

'They can damage adolescent brain development.'

'We think there should be no place for disposable vapes on the Irish market because they're highly appealing to young people.'
