The 62 year old is accused of murdering Sophie Toscan du Plantier in West Cork over 20 years ago.
Three judges of the Cour d'Assises in Paris will decide today whether Ian Bailey is guilty or not of murdering French film producer, Sophie Toscan du Plantier at her holiday home near Toormore on December 23rd 1996.
The judges have spent three days listening to evidence given by several witnesses including Billy Fuller and Amanda Reed who travelled from Ireland as well as a number of French witnesses including friends and relatives of Ms Toscan du Plantier.
62 year old Ian Bailey of Liscaha in Schull in West Cork is being tried in abstentia and is not legally represented at the hearing.
He has repeatedly denied that he had any involvement in the murder or that he ever made any admissions in relation to her death.
