The Consumers Association of Ireland is warning that ATM charges could be introduced.
It would be at independently-operated machines.
Bank of Ireland and AIB sold over 1,200 non-branch machines in 2021.
The independent operators are not regulated by the Central Bank.
There are now fears that charges of between €1 and €3 could be introduced anytime cash is withdrawn.
The CAI has called for these machines to be regulated in order to protect consumers from the costs.
However, as things stand, there's no control over what decisions the operators can make.
