It happened in the Slieve League/Killybegs area between Saturday and Sunday of last weekend.
Public access to Slieve League was closed yesterday and remains closed to facilitate an investigation by Gardaí.
They're considered to be some of the highest sea cliffs in Europe and are one of Donegal's most popular tourist attractions.
Investigating Gardaí are asking anyone with information to contact them.
