A 33 year old man has died in hospital overnight after being injured when he and a young girl were hit by a car in Ballina, County Mayo on Tuesday night.
The local Coroner has been informed, and arrangements are being made for a post-mortem examination.
The child, who was also injured, has been discharged from hospital.
Gardaí are renewing their appeal for witnesses to the collision to come forward.
