Some of these habits include being physically active and having a good diet.
A new study has found following eight healthy habits can add up 24 extra years to your life.
Data from almost 720,000 US veterans found life expectancy shifted based on the number of healthy habits followed.
The eight habits are as follows:
- Being physically active
- Not smoking
- Being free from opioid addiction
- Managing stress
- Having a good diet
- Not regularly binge drinking alcohol
- Having good sleep hygiene
- Having positive social relationships.
The findings, which were presented at the American Society for Nutrition's annual meeting in Boston, found having all eight habits could add up to 24 extra years to a man's life and up 21 years to a woman's life.
