Gardai are appealing for witnesses after a young teenager was killed when the tractor he was driving overturned in Co. Mayo.
There's widespread shock in Claremorris after the incident on Saturday evening.
The 13 year old boy was treated at the scene in Scarduane for serious injuries and then taken to Galway University Hospital, however he was later transferred to Temple St. Children's Hospital in Dublin.
'Shortly after quarter passed eight on Sunday morning, Gardai and emergency services were alerted after a tractor overturned on a local road near Claremorris in the County and Gardai said that the driver and sole occupant of the tractor was a 13 year old boy. He was treated at the scene for serious injuries and removed to Galway University hospital and he was subsequently transferred to Temple St children's hospital in Dublin where he sadly passed away on Sunday.'
