Current restrictions will stay for an extra week.
On April 5th, nothing will change.
From April 12th people will be allowed to travel within their own county, or within 20km of your home if you cross a county border.
Two households will also be allowed to meet outdoors for social and recreational purposes - but not in their private gardens.
Construction on houses and apartments and childcare facilities will resume and two fully vaccinated people will be allowed to meet indoors.
All school classes will also return on the 12th.
From April 19th, inter-county GAA training can resume. Training for certain high performing athletes as approved by Sport Ireland, in a range of sports will also be approved.
Then on April 26th, outdoor individual sports like golf and tennis can resume along with non-contact sports training for children.
Places of heritage, zoos and some attractions can re-open.
The number of people able to attend a funeral will also increase to 25.
Ministers are also finalising the details of a roadmap that could see retail and personal services like hairdressers open in May.
The measures announced today will continue until May 4th. After that, the following areas will be under consideration:
- Full re-opening of construction activity.
- Phased return of non-essential retail commencing with click and collect and outdoor retail i.e. garden centres/nurseries.
- Recommencement of personal services like hairdressers, barbers, beauticians etc on a staggered basis.
- Re-opening of Museums, Galleries & Libraries
- Recommencement of religious services on a staggered basis
