Christmas 2022 is well underway and if you’re looking to visit a Christmas market in Galway, Belfast, or further afield, travel journalist, Melanie May has some cracking recommendations.

Louise Clarke from iRadio’s The Hub spoke to Melanie about the Galway Christmas Market which is held in Eyre Square and will be running until the 22nd of December. Highlights include visitor favorites such as the Ferris wheel and the festive games stands are back, with gift kiosks dotted around the square for eager shoppers.

Up north, The Belfast Christmas Market will be kicking off this Saturday. It returns to City Hall Gardens, bringing with it a traditional taste of Christmas.

According to the Belfast Christmas market website, “this year the food court at the Market with bench-style seating makes a welcome return, as does the vintage Helter Skelter, offering stunning views right across the market, and the much-loved carousel”.

If you’re planning to travel further afield, Melanie also recommended the Christmas Markets in Germany and Denmark and Hyde Park in London.
