He was arrested in Meath today.
A man in his 50s has been arrested in connection with the murder of a missing couple William Maughan and Anastasija Varslavane.
Maughan (34) who was from Tallaght in Dublin and Varslavane (20), from Lativa, went missing from their home in Gormanston, Co Meath on the 14th of April 2015.
Gardai believe the couple were murdered but their remains have never been found.
Today a man has been arrested in Co Meath as part of the investigation into their murder.
The man who is from the UK is also being held in connection with the discovery of firearms in Gormanston, Co Meath in Jauary of this year and the discovery of a large quantity of ammunition last year.
He is being held at Ashbourne Garda station and can be detained for up to seven days
