It happened just after 9 o’clock last night during the under-16 Championship semi-final between Cookstown Fr Rocks and Fintona Pearses in Cookstown.

One man was treated at the scene for minor injuries, a second was taken to hospital.

There were many children among the crowd of spectators and Cookstown GFC says it is now supporting children and young people “who witnessed this disturbing and very serious incident”.
