Thinking of leaving that WhatsApp group chat? You may think again..
WhatsApp group chats are a staple of everyone's daily routine at this stage.
Whether it's for work, for friends or for family. We're all in a few group chats whether we like it or not.
Sometimes you may be forced to leave a group for good reason.
But WhatsApp is working on a feature that will leave a trace of your participation.

A future update will show everyone that has left the group chat at any point in time.
This way, WhatsApp users can see past participants when they view the members of a group.
A Beta version of the update has been leaked online, and it's not known when it'll be rolled out here.
The list of past members will only be available if they left in the last 60 days.
This will apply to those who voluntarily left, and to those who have been kicked out by an admin.
It's likely this is part of a bigger update, as it has been teased users could 'silently' leave group chats without notifying members.
The past members feature could be used to replace the 'person x has left' notification in the chat.
