Do you fall asleep with your phone charging in your hand?
For most the only long period of time you don't need your phone is overnight - meaning people utilise this time to get their phone fully charged for the day ahead.
However, Apple is issuing a warning for people who fall asleep holding their phone while it's charging.
The electonic company say you're at risk of causing “fire, electric shock, injury, or damage to iPhone or other property” if you do so.
The tech giant says its iPhones should only be charged in a 'well-ventilated area' like on a flat table and not on a duvet.
iPhones heat as they charge, so they could cause burns or even start fires.
Some fire services advise not to charge your phone overnight at all.
An official statement from Apple said: “Don’t sleep on a device, power adapter, or wireless charger, or place them under a blanket, pillow, or your body, when it’s connected to a power source. Keep your iPhone, the power adapter, and any wireless charger in a well-ventilated area when in use or charging. Take special care if you have a physical condition that affects your ability to detect heat against the body.”
Also, the tech company also wanted that using third-party chargers can also increase the risk of fires as some may not meet the required safety standards.
Apple have recommended that all users look for 'Made for iPhone' cables that meet these requirements.
