What we always f***ing suspected.
Sick of so called friends who talk behind your back and refuse to be honest with you? Then get yourself a pal with a mouth like a rough sailor.
Because research suggests that those who swear regularly make better friends.
Writing for the Social Psychological and Personality Science journal, a team of academics found what we've all long expected... people who say f*ck actually give a f*ck.
The study suggested that their unfiltered speech was representative of their honest approach to life.
According to the report, “profanity can be positively associated with honesty. It is often used to express one’s unfiltered feelings (e.g., anger, frustration) and sincerity.”
Interestingly if you're every trying to find out if someone is lying to you about something the study also found: “Innocent suspects, for example, are more likely to use swear words than guilty suspects when denying accusations.”
So there it is...that foul mouthed person in your office or your circle of friends may in fact be one of the most honest and trustworthy people in your f***ing life.
