One third of Danish women said they'd be OK with being wolf whistled at.

And it's quite surprising.

When you think of Denmark you may imagine a progressive Scandinavian country that treats it's citizens extremely well- and you'd be correct.

But, surprisingly you'd also be thinking of one of the least feminist minded countries in the world.

That is according to a study conducted by the YouGov-Cambridge Globalism Project in partnership with The Guardian.

The global study quizzed more than 25,000 people in 23 major countries, and found that only one in six Danes think of themselves as a feminist.

By contrast, in neighbouring Sweden, 46% of its citizens identified as feminists.

The survey canvassed attitudes towards gender, equal rights and the #MeToo movement.

Only a small percentage of Danish men (4%) and women (8%) had a 'very favourable' impression of #MeToo.

Danish women also don't have too much of a problem with wolf whistling in the street - a third of those surveyed were okay with it.

Danish accountant Helene Frost Hansen, 37, told The Guardian: “It’s a difficult question. What is a modern feminist? I don’t want to be equal in all senses.”

She said wolf whistling could be okay. “I don’t mind it so long as it’s done in a nice way. I see it as a compliment, actually.”

“A lot of Danish women say that they would like men to be more like in southern Europe and tell you how nice you look.”
