Experts claim turning the heating on before you conk out for the night isn't any good for you.
Sleeping with the heating on in reality, disrupts your sleep and can actually be really bad for you.
How exactly does the heat effect your sleep though?
Well, our bodies apparently can't deal with the temperature fluctuation and it's actually better to let your bedroom cool down before getting between the sheets.
Sleep expert James Wilson , aka The Sleep Geek told The Sun that:
“Often we are told the bedroom should be 16C to 18C but for some people that is too cold, so it is better to focus instead on simply making the bedroom feel cooler than the rest of the house.”
"The more important temperature for sleep is the one between the mattress and the duvet, which should be between 27C and 29C.”
James claims that doing this encourages the body to drop to the core temperature we need to properly drift off.
Plus, it probably benefits your heating bill at the end of the month. Win-win!
