Online shopping for second-hand clothing is getting more and more popular.
Website Thriftify, which represents 98% of charities in Ireland, has given us an insight into our shopping trends.
They say the purchase of second-hand clothes in 2021 equated to preventing almost 170 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
The most popular item of clothing for thrifting was dresses - with nearly 6,000 sold on their site last year.
The next most purchased pieces were jumpers and cardigans which proved to be popular.

Accessories were also a keen choice for consumers, with many opting to buy second-hand bags or jewellery. It was third.
Then it was coats/jackets followed by t-shirts in fifth. Users can also opt to donate an extra few euros to their charity of choice at the checkout.
Over 23,000 orders were made by web goers buying second-hand clothes from charities in Ireland in 2021.
The most expensive item of clothing sold all year was a vintage Gucci dress, which sold for €414.37.
Buying second-hand clothes has become more and more popular as people try to be more environmentally conscious.
