A new study has found cold water sea swimming is more likely to burn fat in men compared to women.
Researchers at Leiden University Medical Centre in the Netherlands, found exposure to cold temperatures in the morning time was more likely to boost metabolism in men.
Experts found the time the day didn't impact fat burning in women, however, females were better able to tolerate cold temperature in the morning.
The Irish Independent reports Dr. Mariette Boon will present the study's findings at the European Congress on Obesity taking place at the Convention Centre in Dublin today.
