It turns out women may be stingier than men when it comes to robbing a few chips.
Every relationship is full of little milestones, like a toothbrush especially for the other persons house, or the first time you exchange 'I love yous'.
Each milestone varies in significance and each takes a different amount of time to come to fruition.
And this was the focal point of a new study of 2,000 people by From Mars, which quizzed people about how long it takes for them to reach various modern milestones, including clothes borrowing, toilet chats and sharing Netflix accounts.
The study revealed it takes around seven months for women to feel comfortable around toilet based topics, while for men it's five months.
Similarly, women are okay with farting in front of their significant other after nine months, something that takes men eight months.
Both sexes will take an average of seven months to open up about their sexual history.
And somewhat surprisingly it takes men six months to launch into a conversation about periods, compared to seven months specified by women.
However the most surprising finding revolved around food sharing.
The research revealed that it takes men four months on average to willingly share food, compared an average of 5 months for women, dispelling a long held mantra that men are unwilling to share their plates.
While getting lazy with the personal grooming takes a pretty long amount of time for both sexes, with women taking around 12 months and men nine.
If you want to compare the speed of your relationship milestones to the rest of the study, you can do that here.
