
Ireland is in the top 10 list of pick pocketing holiday hotspots.
Travel insurance experts Quotezone have revealed their pickpocket index.
According to the Mirror, it ranks the most popular European holiday destinations by the proportion of pick pocketing mentions in visitor reviews.
Italy and France have the two highest number of mentions.
The paper reports:
"Visitors to Italy’s Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, and Pantheon in Rome, the Duomo di Milano in Milan, and the Gallerie Degli Uffizi in Florence mentioned having items stolen in 1,906 Tripadvisor reviews."
Ireland comes in ninth, with 30 mentions of pick pocketing per one million visitors.
