This woman is a genius.

Anyone that's ever been a parent to a toddler knows how hard it can be to leave them alone in a room - even for just the briefest of moments.

But one Japanese mum may have provided a potential genius solution for other mum's all over the globe.

Fuki Sato has proved well and truly that she can think outside (cardboard) box, after a photo of her life-size cardboard cut out hack went viral.

Her husband shared two photographs on Twitter, showing her toddler playing happily, with the two-dimensional cut out keeping watch.

In both situations, the two cardboard replicas are slightly out of the baby's reach, so as not to expose the ruse.

Also lets be honest, seeing his mother fall to the ground after gently nudging her would be quite terrifying for a toddler.

The dad also pointed out that at no point was the child left completely on his own.

But the cut-out does also the mum to pop out for a cup of coffee quickly before returning to check on her child.

Admit it, parents. You're definitely considering trying this out.
