They're moving away from the traditional pyramid teabag to a square shape
This October, you may have to do a double take when doing the food shop - that's because LYONS tea are getting a brand new look.
They've launched the 'We're Square' campaign which means they have a brand new logo, a redesigned box, 33% less packaging and brace yourself...square tea bags!
There's nothing to worry about though as LYONS say it's a 'new shape, same great taste'.
The decision to move away from the traditional pyramid square tea bad design was made to improve both material and quality.
There will no longer be any plastic over wrap on the box, with the box being fully plant-based and recyclable and 33% more compact, so it will fit in the cupboard more easily.
Lyons say the blend has been adapted to the new shape - so as long as you continue to brew the way you always have, you'll continue to enjoy the hot beverage.
And if you're still struggling to get the perfect brew, LYONS Tea Sommelier, Kurush Bharucha has sent on these tips:
"Firstly, ensure your water is boiling while you steep your tea. Preheating your cup will help with this.
"Then make sure you use freshly boiled water, not re-boiled or the water-oxygen level will be off.
"Let it infuse for 2 minutes, any shorter and you won’t get all the goodies from the leaves, any longer and it will become bitter.
"Finally, avoid squeezing the tea bag and instead just remove it- otherwise you’ll release the tannins that also make your brew bitter.
"Apart from that, just go forth and enjoy your tea in whatever way suits you."
