The report also found higher rates of damage to the lungs, brain and kidneys compared to patients who weren't infected with the virus.
Researchers also found a link between how badly the organs were affected and the severity of the infection.
Dr Betty Raman carried out the research, she says 'Long Covid' is causing genuine problems:
"Long-Covid is a serious concern. It affects the quality of life of individuals. People may not be able to return to work. I think this is an area we still need to continue researching, particularly because we still don't have answers to these questions."
