State exams begin this Wednesday the 7th of June

Leaving Cert students are being encouraged to focus on getting good rest and nourishment over the next two days.

That's the recommendation from a leading guidance counsellor.

The Leaving Cert class of 2023 will sit their first ever state exam due to Covid.

English Paper 1 kicks off the exam cycle this coming Wednesday morning at 9.30.

Education Columnist with the Irish Times, Brian Mooney has this advice:

"They've done the work and it's a three week marathon between Wednesday morning English Paper 1 and Religion on the last week of June. So it's a really really tough few weeks in that sense. So it's about sustaining yourself, it's about good diet, it's about good rest, it's about studying, working out the schedule of exams for each individual."
