A good decision to take the small role.
Imagine taking one small gig 20 years ago, and still reaping the rewards now?
Sounds like a dream really.
But that dream is a reality for one actor - Reece Thompson.
At the age of 5, his mother had to decide whether to have her son take a job in an ad or on "a major motion picture".
And she choose the latter - not knowing at the time the movie, Titanic, would become one of the highest-grossing movies of all time.
Thomspon's small recurring role in the movie is listed as Little Irish boy.
Thomspon, now 25, doesn't act anymore, but he has revealed to Business Insider that he still gets money every year to this day.
He told the publication he tends to earn about $200 to $300 a year in residuals.
In the years after the movie's debut, he said the checks were in the "low thousands".
But when DVD and Blu Ray copies came out, he'd get another spike in earnings.
Now, Thomspon is working as the digital marketing director at Brian Head Resort, a skiing and snowboarding resort in Utah.
Originally from Vancouver, he revealed he actually struggled with the Irish accent for his part in Titanic.
Though, at age 5, he remembers very little else about being on set.
