What's your gut answer?
After a long 19 months, nightclubs have finally been allowed open their doors again.
And although there's lots of discussion and disagreement over new rules, this post isn't about that - (but if you wanna read about that, you can here).
No, this post is about age.
Now, we're not here to tell you what age is too old to go to a nightclub, or if that's even a thing.
We're just here to allow the debate to happen.
In a recent post on Reddit, one 35 year old man asked:
'How old is too old for nightclubs?'
He continued by sharing his own experience recently...
He was chatting friends about looking forward to getting back into nightclubs.
However, most his friends (of similar age) responded saying the days of nightclubs were behind them.
He continued: "I'm no spring chicken, but I thought I had a few more years of drinking and dancing into the small hours of the morning."
And the responses on Reddit were mostly mixed.
Here's a few revolving around how it's all about the vibe you give off:
"I don’t think there’s any age, but I really don’t want to be the 40+ guy in a tucked oversized shirt, gelled spiked hair, boot cut jeans & brown square shoes trying to get a feel of the college students"
"There is an over-25 club night in Galway that always had people in their 40s/50s. We used to go to it at age 26/27 and I never thought the older people were too old. As long as you’re actually enjoying the vibe. Standing around awkwardly is a bad look though."
While this user also agreed, they also commented how it's been such a long and lonely two years for many people because of covid:
"Personally I don’t care or judge on age and if people want to have fun then f***ing let them."
"It’s been a tough long near 2 years off loneliness and isolation so I’m not going to blame anyone for letting loose and particularly those (myself included) who are single."
Many people were strongly of the opinion that 'you're never too old' -
"Doesn't matter as long as you are happy."
"As long as a person is over 18, There is no age limit to going to a club. If you want to go to a club, go to a club."
