Ooh controversial...

We all enjoy our nights in as much as our nights out, right?

And we do love a good get together with our friend group - whether that's all girls, all boys or mixed.

Should there be any issues with this?

Probably not, but one woman has taken to Reddit to explain how her fella doesn't quite like the idea of a girls night in - or a GNI as she refers to it.

The woman has only been seeing a guy for a few months, but already Reddit users are seeing "red flags" with their relationship.

And it's all because she organised a girls night in at her place.

On Reddit's "Am I the A*****e", or AITA for short, forum, she asks - "AITA For refusing to stop having girls night ins just because my boyfriend thinks it's wrong?"

Users can then vote whether they think she's in the right or wrong, and share their thoughts - which MANY people have done.

Here's the post, but below we've got a summary of what exactly happened.

The couple are on the phone discussing weekend plans, when the woman mentions she wants to hose GNI on Friday, instead of meeting him.

The woman then explains that her significant other pauses at the mention of GNI and she says "he started talking about how outdated and sooo 1950s those events are and said that I should stop promoting and advocating for those events as they are sooo toxic and flatout reek of misogyny".

And the word "sexist" was also thrown around.

The woman is clearly blown away by his reaction but won't back down from her night in.

So what do people think?

Well most people think she's totally right and can continue meeting her friends as she pleases, in whatever way she pleases.

Many people were also concerned about his behaviour saying it was bordering controlling.

Although, a few people kind of saw his point, with one user saying: "Sexist I could at least kinda sorta see the reasoning for but... misogynist?"

What do you think?
