But those with dogs at home may be worried about bringing them along.
But Petmania have some top tips for you, especially if they're not used to travelling.
iRadio spoke to Robyn Devlin at Petmania in Galway, and she gave us advice.
She recommended taking a few short practise trips before.
Going on a quick trip to a local park or even a shop will get your pet used to being in the car!
She also said not to give them any large meals before the trip.
But that "keeping them hydrated and giving small treats throughout the journey is fine," she said.
A travel blanket or crate can also come in handy!
