Greta makes the perfect response to Trump after he branded her a ‘happy young girl’

Environmental activist Greta Thunberg has hit back after US President Donald Trump labelled her a “very happy young girl”.

Trump tweeted the comments very shortly after Thunberg (16) made a passionate speech to the United Nations.

Mr Trump appeared to make sarcastic comments as he retweeted a video of her speech and wrote: “She seems like a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future. So nice to see!”

Now, the teenage activist — who made headlines for her icy stare at the president when he arrived at the summit — has responded and adopted the mantra as her Twitter bio.

Her account previously said: “16 year old climate activist with Asperger”.

It now reads: “A very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future.”

Ms Thunberg has received global praise for her speech, in which she implored world leaders to do more to tackle climate change.

''You come to us young people for hope – how dare you? You have stolen my dreams, my childhood with your empty words,'' she said.

''People are suffering, people are dying, entire ecosystems are collapsing, we are in the beginning of a mass extinction and all you can talk about is money and the fairytale of endless economic growth. How dare you?

''How dare you continue to look away, and come here saying that you are doing enough, when the politics and solutions needed are still nowhere in sight.''
