80 percent of parents think Gen Z aren't as resilient because of social media

80 per cent of parents think Gen Z children are not as resilient as they once were, because of the pressure of social media.

New research has revealed Snapchat is the most common place for personal cyberbullying to take place.

The figures compiled by IReach reveal there has been a big drop in the number of youths who are likely to report cyberbullying, down 16% from 2017 to 50%.

While there has been a sharp increase in the rates of those witnessing cyberbullying, up 36% from 2017.

Most youths witnessed cyberbullying on Snapchat 62%, Instagram 48%, and TikTok 44%.

Of those who think Gen Z children are not as resilient as they once were, 72% think it’s due to body image pressure followed by Cyberbullying.

Almost 9 in 10 now think there should be more restrictions on websites and apps in order to prevent cyberbullying. There has been a notable jump in the number of males agreeing.
