There's a new beer on the way inspired by Donegal's iconic 'Football Special'

Many children in the northwest were raised on the sweet soft drink that is 'Football Special'.

And now adult fans of the fizzy drink will be delighted to hear that there is a Football Special beer on the way.

McDaids of Ramelton have teamed up with Trouble Brewing to create Football Special Sour.

The creators claim the sour beer combines some of the unique flavours of McDaid's much loved Football Special with the tartness and liveliness of a sour ale.

But according to Donegal Live, you'll have to be quick to get your hands on it as it will only be available for a limited time.

Keep an eye out for the beverage in independent off-licenses this week.
